History of Rizal Provincial Government

The Rizal Provincial Library continuously facilitate education to the entire province of Rizal by establishing municipal libraries in every town of the different municipalities with the full support from the National Library of the Philippines thru its supervision and yearly allocation of books and learning materials. As of year 2016, only the municipalities of Teresa, Pililla and Morong has yet to establish their own library.

The Rizal Provincial Library has likewise adapted changes in services by providing community eCenter and internet services to clients and outreach programs were initiated by establishing Barangay Reading Centers on remote barangays.

The Rizal Provincial Library as of 2016 caters 12 municipalities, Cainta, Angono, Taytay, Binangonan, Teresa, Cardona, Baras, Jalajala, Pililla, San Mateo, Rodriguez, Tanay and 1 component city of Antipolo.

On the same year 2016, the Rizal Province Community eCenter (RPCeC) received a Plaque of Recognition on it's 10 year of unrelenting services to the Rizalenos, awarded by the Department of Information and Communications Technology. The CeC was later upgraded and renamed Tech 4ED, (Technology Empowerment for Education, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development).

On January 2017 , after the retirement of the Provincial Librarian, the Rizal Provincial Library was placed under the supervision of an Officer-in-charge, Ms. Corazon C. Braga. With the support of the National Library, the modern library operations was initiated.

The Rizal Provincial Library was chosen by the National Library as pilot province for the launching of Ambisyon 2040, patterned in the UK/British model of Framework of Wellbeing (Social Hub, Cultural Center, Learning Hub, Economic Enabler), which was adopted to the Filipino culture creating the 5 pillars of empowerment, called the 5K, Kalikasan, Kalusugan, Karunungan, Kabuhayan, and Kultura. The 5 pillars bannered the launch of the Pamilyang Rizaleno 2040.

On March 31, 2017 the DICT/Tech4ED conducted the Digital Literacy workshop to enhance the computer literacy of the staff of the Library.

The rebranding of the Rizal Provincial Library started with the establishment of the e-Lib after being awarded as the 27th Tekno Aklatan Recipient of the National Library. The concept of the e-Lib was enhanced by Benchmarking with other modernized libraries.
