PROJECT: Providing a SENIOR CITIZENS’ (FRIENDLY) CORNER as additional services of the Rizal Provincial Library in cooperation with the Municipality of Taytay

OVERVIEW

Since the start of the Rizal Provincial Library, it has been serving the community thru books and reading materials. In order to provide better service and optimize the use of knowledge, ability and information, we establish the SENIOR CITIZENS’ CORNER to benefit the older generation.

MISSION: The Rizal Provincial Library desires to provide the community a “Modern Library” with other amenities for the benefit of the Rizalenos.

GOALS

  • To provide library services through the use of amenities not limited to books and other reading materials.
  • To help elders utilize their time productively and educationally for a life-long learning.

OBJECTIVES

To provide a Senior Citizens’ corner, a place to dream, relax, nurture their minds and learn, a place where elders can:

  • Relax reading newspapers, books, magazines, periodicals
  • Play board games ie.; chess and scrabble
  • Learn basic computer (tutorials)

ADVANTAGES

The project will occupy limited space but will cater and benefit a large number of clientele.

TARGET USERS:   General Public (elders) in the friendly neighborhood but not limited to seniors aged 60 years and above. Elders aged below 60 years are also welcome to use the Senior Citizens’ corner.
