History of Rizal Provincial Government

A Sangguniang Panlalawigan staff detailed at the Rizal Provincial Library, Bro. Rosauro B. Michael conceptualized, visualized and designed the Rizal Provincial Library e-Lib Logo. Proposed Resolution no. 142, s. 2017 introduced by BM Olivia F. De Leon, chairman of the Committee on Education, A Resolution Approving the Logo of the Rizal provincial Library e-Lib and adopting the same as its official seal, was submitted to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for approval.

The concept of the illustrations on the Logo is defined as follows; a. Electronic/Virtual Library from the traditional books to computerization thru the establishment of the CeC with internet services and KOHA-ILS ( Integrated Library Systems) OPAC, on line public access catalogue.

b. Growth for productive and educational learning thru the integration of Tech 4ED project, starbooks and Tekno-Aklatan.

c. Collaboration/interaction with other agencies for the benefit of the general public not limited to children, students and professionals but also the elderly.

d. Ynares Electronic Services (YES) eGov services catering a one stop shop providing easy access to e-Government offices, LGUs, NGP (Non Government Portals) and NGOs for various transactions and references.

e. Literacy and Education Literally providing to everyone learning thru books and eCenter services from primary to secondary up to the highest attainable in the degree of learning.

With the approval of the Governor, Hon. Rebecca A. Ynares, the proposed resolution was finally approved as Resolution no. 173, s.2017 on 2 May 2017.

On May 25-26, 2017, the Rizal Provincial Library in cooperation with the National Library of the Philippines conducted a 2 day training workshop on Framework and Program Development for Rizal Public libraries attended by municipal libraries, barangay reading center officials and LGUs, held at the Rizal Provincial Capitol, Ynares Center, Antipolo City.

On July 12, 2017, to complement the modernization and rebranding of the Rizal Provincial Library, the rehabilitation of the RPL building was started.
